Group Sales & Northern Division Manager
Job Category: Sales and Services
Reports To: Director of Sales
Supervises: 2 Account Executives
Position Open Immediately
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Generate convention center and hotel bookings from assigned market segments, primarily; Group tours, hobby, military, sports meetings, state associations and small meetings (under 250 peak)
- Identify and develop target customers
- Create and maintain client base
- Manage traces
- Enter all information into D3K per established policy and procedures.
- Create & distribute periodic written reports of booking goals and marketing effectiveness.
- Diplomatically interface and maintain close working relationships with all area hotel and convention facilities partners, especially hotel partners in the northern Hamilton County suburbs and serve as liaison between the client and these facilities.
- Maintain good product knowledge of destination. Collaborate with Marketing to develop FAMs and collateral to effectively support sales effort in the northern suburbs.
- Prepare and present sales (written and oral) presentations to customer boards or site selection committees
- Coordinate and conduct site tours
- Represent CVB for statewide meeting / convention-related committees and organizations, and with northern Hamilton County hoteliers.
- Attend industry tradeshows, sales trips, networking events etc to solicit convention business including: pre-planning, selecting target customers, pre-and-post show mailers
- Analyze tradeshow outcome for best ROI
- Maintain knowledge of competitive city product
- Budget management
Administration/Finance:
- Act as regional office coordinator. On-site point person to arrange for equipment repair, bldg maintenance & security (keys, office access).
- Procurement and Budget oversight. Responsible for ordering and maintaining office/facility supplies, developing and maintaining regional office budget.
- Keep DOS/VP of Sales/CEO apprised of activity and proposed strategy as agreed upon
Supervisory:
Coordinates, trains, and provides oversight in support of the sales activity performed by the Account Executives (also located in the Suburban North office).
Requirements:
- Education / Experience:
- BA/BS degree (or equivalent related experience)
- Hotel sales or CVB experience preferred
- Previous experience in hospitality industry sales or marketing required
- Must demonstrate ability to deliver room night goal results
- Demonstrate strong negotiation skills and ability to identify innovative ways to increase efficiency and decrease costs, while maintaining quality deliverables and customer service
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Demonstrated excellent leadership and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and diplomacy
- Maintain a commitment to professionalism, excellence and integrity
- Willing and able to work evenings or weekends based on client and office demands
- Intermediate level skills with Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint)
